TEAC NT-505-X: High-Performance Dual Monaural USB DAC with Versatile Network Playback
The TEAC NT-505-X is a top-tier dual monaural USB DAC with advanced network playback capabilities. It combines the latest in network technology with TEAC’s decades of audio design expertise, all housed in a compact, A4-sized package. Its dual mono architecture ensures enhanced signal purity, utilizing an ESS Technology ES9038 Q2M DAC for each channel to deliver exceptional clarity.
By operating each DAC in mono mode, the NT-505-X achieves a high signal-to-noise ratio, supporting native playback of 22.5MHz DSD and 768kHz/32-bit PCM when used as a USB DAC. In the analog section, which is critical for sound quality, four TEAC-HCLD2 buffer amplifier circuits provide different drive modes—fully-balanced for balanced output and parallel for unbalanced output—resulting in refined and expressive audio performance.
On the network side, the NT-505-X supports high-quality music services, including TIDAL, Qobuz, and is Roon Ready*. A built-in MQA decoder ensures optimal playback of MQA files, offering access to unlimited online music content with high-quality digital and analog processing.
With Bluetooth® connectivity, the NT-505-X allows for high-quality wireless playback from smartphones, ensuring flexibility alongside its outstanding DAC performance. The NT-505-X sets a new standard in network-ready DACs, delivering an exceptional listening experience.
